Being stuck at work when the power is out! Based on the current estimates from the power company it’s going to be a dead heat between whether the power comes back on or my shift ends first.
I honestly hope it’s the second option because getting this place back up and running after an extended outage is a pain in the butt! Maybe it’ll come back right as the next shift shows up and I can clock some sweet o.t. by helping him.
Oh, as an added bonus I’ve now discovered half our backup lights don’t work so I’m typing this by the warm glow of a battery powered lantern I just happened to have in my car.

I work for a government facility so OSHA doesn’t apply. I have made a list of which aren’t working properly and marked them with lockout tags. I’m sure the batteries are just old. Thankfully they’re pretty quick to fix that kind of thing.

That would make it much better. Actually, someone on the other side of the fence had a fire going earlier, but I’m sure they’re in bed by now.

I know how you feel, I had to baby sit some contractors at a site today with no power and the warmest it got was 5 celsius, I started the day at -5.
I knew it’d be cold before hand though, so I was dressed appropriately.
